What's Included in a Colour Change?

A full vinyl colour change is a complete exterior transformation of your vehicle using premium vinyl wrap film. Instead of repainting, we apply high-quality vinyl over your factory paint to give your vehicle an entirely new colour and finish.

You can choose from hundreds of finishes including gloss, satin, matte, metallic, colour-shift, carbon fibre, and specialty textures. Whether you want a subtle OEM+ look or something bold and exotic, a vinyl wrap allows you to completely redefine your vehicle’s appearance.

Benefits of the service

Cost-effective Alternative to Paint

A wrap delivers a premium look at a fraction of the cost of a high-quality paint job.

Paint protection

The vinyl protects your original factory paint from chips, UV damage, and light scratches.

Reversible

Want to return to stock or change colours again? Vinyl can be professionally removed without damaging the paint underneath.

Our Process

We pride ourselves on a “hidden edge” philosophy. We don’t just slap vinyl on; we treat every vehicle like a work of art.

  1. Decontamination & Prep: We perform a deep exterior clean and clay bar treatment to ensure the surface is surgically clean for maximum adhesion.
  2. Hardware Removal: To ensure a seamless look, we carefully remove mirrors, door handles, and emblems so the vinyl can be tucked behind them—no visible “seams” or original paint peeking through.
  3. Expert Installation: Using industry-leading materials from 3M and Avery Dennison, our installers use precision heat-mapping and tension techniques to ensure a bubble-free, glass-smooth finish.
  4. Final Quality Inspection: Every corner, curve, and recessed area is inspected before the vehicle leaves our shop to ensure it meets the URO standard of excellence.

Ready to Start Your Transformation?

Don’t settle for “factory standard.” Whether you are looking for a subtle satin finish or a bold, head-turning chrome, the team at Wrapped by URO is ready to bring your vision to life.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I do this service?

A full colour change involves applying a high-quality adhesive vinyl film over every painted surface of your vehicle. Unlike a partial wrap or decals, this process completely transforms the look of your car, truck, or van, making it appear as though it has a brand-new factory paint job—but with more finish options than paint can offer.

How much does a full colour change cost?

Pricing depends on the size of the vehicle, the complexity of the body panels, and the type of vinyl chosen (e.g., Gloss, Matte, Satin, or Specialty Chrome).

Personal Vehicles: Generally range from $2,500 to $5,000+.

Commercial Vehicles: Prices vary based on fleet size and whether branding/graphics are integrated into the colour change.

How long will the wrap last?

When professionally installed and properly maintained, a high-quality wrap (using 3M or Avery Dennison materials) typically lasts between 5 to 7 years. Factors like sun exposure and how often the vehicle is cleaned will impact its longevity.

Will the vinyl damage my vehicle’s original paint?

No. In fact, it does the opposite. A wrap acts as a protective layer against UV rays, minor stone chips, and road debris. When it’s time to remove the wrap, your factory paint underneath will typically be in the same condition it was on the day of installation—which helps preserve your vehicle’s resale value.

Can I wrap a leased vehicle?

Absolutely. Many of our clients wrap leased vehicles because it allows them to personalize the car or brand it for business without making permanent changes. Since the wrap is 100% removable, you can return the vehicle to its original “beige sedan” look before the lease ends.

How do I care for my new wrap?

To keep your wrap looking fresh, we recommend:

  • Hand washing with mild automotive soap every 1–2 weeks.
  • Avoiding automatic brush car washes, which can scratch or lift the edges of the vinyl.
  • Parking in a garage or shade whenever possible to minimize UV exposure.
  • For commercial fleets, regular rinsing is key to removing road salt and grime during Ontario winters.

Can you wrap over scratches or dents?

Vinyl is very thin and is designed to conform to the surface of the vehicle. It will not hide physical “texture” like deep scratches, stone chips, or rust. For the best result, the underlying paint should be in good condition. We recommend fixing any body damage before the wrapping process begins.

How long does the installation take?

A professional full colour change typically takes 3 to 5 business days. This allows our team to properly prep the surface, remove necessary hardware (like door handles or emblems) for a seamless finish, and ensure the vinyl has reached its maximum adhesion before you pick it up.

What finishes are available?

The options are nearly limitless. We offer:

  • Gloss: Mimics the look of a traditional high-quality paint job.
  • Satin/Matte: Provides a modern, non-reflective, “stealth” appearance.
  • Metallic/Pearl: Adds depth and shimmer under sunlight.
  • Textured: Unique options like Carbon Fibre or Brushed Metal.

Why choose Wrapped by URO over a paint job?

Wrapping is faster, more cost-effective, and reversible. While a high-end paint job can cost upwards of $10,000 and permanently alters the car, a wrap offers more variety (like colour-shifting flips) and the flexibility to change your mind—or your branding—a few years down the road.
